BC MEDICAL ASSOCIATION CITES BIOLYTICALTM LABORATORIES’ INSTI™ HIV-1/HIV-2* RAPID ANTIBODY TEST FOR POINT-OF-CARE HIV TESTING

VANCOUVER, CANADA (May 10, 2007) – bioLyticalTM Laboratories (bioLytical) is pleased to announce it has been cited by the BC Medical Association (BCMA) as the only manufacturer in Canada with a Health Canada approved point-of-care (POC) HIV test.
In many cases, POC HIV testing could be the most efficient and perhaps the only feasible way to provide information to a client about his/her HIV status, such as when an HIV status needs to be known immediately or when a client cannot or chooses not to access standard HIV testing. bioLytical’s INSTI HIV-1/HIV-2* Rapid Antibody Test is a highly effective and reliable rapid HIV test that detects the presence of antibodies to HIV in whole blood, serum or plasma in 60 seconds.
